Child Safety Standards

Last updated: 24 July 2026

These standards describe how Freelater Ltd keeps children safe on FreeLater, our event-planning app and web experience (together, the “Service”). They set out our zero-tolerance stance on child sexual abuse and exploitation, how to report it, how we act on reports, and who to contact.

1. Our commitment

FreeLater has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) and for child sexual abuse material (CSAM). This content, and any conduct that sexualises, grooms, endangers, or exploits a child, is strictly prohibited anywhere on the Service — including profiles, event details, and chat.

2. What is prohibited

Users must never use FreeLater to:

  • create, upload, share, request, or link to child sexual abuse material (CSAM) in any form;
  • groom, solicit, sexualise, or otherwise endanger or exploit a child;
  • attempt to make contact with a child for any of the purposes above.

These rules apply in addition to our Terms & Conditions. The Service is not directed at children under 13, and registration requires confirmation that the user is 13 years of age or older.

3. How to report a concern

You can report suspected CSAE, CSAM, or any child-safety concern:

  • In the app: use Settings → Feedback → Report abuse to send us a report without leaving the app;
  • By email: contact our child-safety point of contact at safety@freelater.com;
  • Via the website: use our contact form.

If a child is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first. In the UK, dial 999.

4. How we act on reports

When we receive a report or otherwise become aware of CSAE/CSAM, we:

  • review the report promptly;
  • preserve the relevant records as evidence, without redistributing the material;
  • remove or disable access to the offending content;
  • suspend or remove the accounts of users responsible for it;
  • report confirmed CSAM to the appropriate authority (see below) and cooperate with lawful requests.

5. Reporting to authorities

We report confirmed CSAM and related conduct to the relevant authorities, including:

  • the Internet Watch Foundation (IWF) in the United Kingdom;
  • the National Crime Agency / CEOP, or the police (999) where a child is at risk;
  • the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) where appropriate.

6. Compliance with law

We comply with applicable child-safety laws in the jurisdictions where we operate, including UK law. We keep these standards under review as the Service and the applicable requirements develop.

7. Child safety point of contact

Questions about our child-safety practices can be directed to our designated point of contact:
